Our developers are continuously working on various tasks divided according to priorities. When the time comes, they deem it appropriate or something is really urgent, they make an update – Release. For WEDOS, all such updates are numbered according to the date of issue. According to records, 13 have already been issued this year. Let’s take a look at today’s one.

We have been working on the VMS (Virtual Managed Server) service for a long time. You often ask about her and would like to see her with us at last. The first concepts are more than 4 years old. We have been working on two versions in the meantime, but we have not finished either of them. Either it failed on lack of time and forces for development or simply the chosen technology has already been surpassed. Everything is moving forward very quickly and we have also made progress. In the end, we decided to stick to our motto – we will make the best service that will suit the majority of our customers.

There is still dancing on board, but at WEDOS we are enlightened ( 🙂 ) and so we know very well that the end of the good times and prosperity is coming to an end. In the Czech Republic we are currently having a very good time. If you get to know more countries in the world, not only from the view of the hotel, but also how people live there, you have to admit that the Czech Republic is currently one of the best places to live in the world. We don’t realize it and so we don’t appreciate it. Somehow we forget that the economy works in cycles. Add to that our dependence on neighbouring countries (and the fact that we are an assembly plant). The addiction is huge. At WEDOS we don’t want to be an assembly plant, but we are always moving forward and always inventing. We are building one of the most efficient datacenters in the world and we hope to patent the whole thing 🙂 .

Times are bad and the economic crisis is imminent. Electricity is getting more expensive, gas is getting more expensive, mortgages are going up and unfortunately we have to make .CZ domains more expensive. The National Registry of .CZ domains, which is managed by the organization CZ.NIC, z.s.p.o., the monopoly domain administrator, is increasing the price of .CZ domains by 20 crowns per year.

Today on the market (not only in the Czech Republic, but globally), everyone refers to their service as a cloud. However, in the vast majority of cases, it is either just some storage, a regular virtual server (VPS) with a choice of parameters and sometimes with the option of hourly or daily billing – Pay As You Go mode.
But this is definitely not the cloud. In this article, we explain the difference of our new WEDOS Cloud service, which is a true cloud.
This is a true professional IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) service.
We based WEDOS on services that suit most people, as much automation as possible and the ability to set up everything you need. Thanks to this model, we recently broke the 100,000 active NoLimit web hosts mark. We used to say that we are such a big web hosting factory. We have always claimed that our services can suit 98% of all potential customers. But I’m somewhere different now than I was five years ago, and we’re considering offering B2B/VIP services. Our customers are evolving and growing and we need to respond.
We have an interesting chart for you today. In October we could enjoy warm sunny days, but also very cold and cloudy. This is beautifully reflected in our graph of electricity consumed in DC1.
