As awareness of WEDOS Global spreads and more and more new customers who have a problem with DDoS attacks come to us, the more frustrated the attackers become. This leads to more intense attacks on our website and infrastructure. Sometimes they try really hard, earning us valuable data and experience 🙂 .

In October, we mainly tuned the content caching. We have made great progress, especially with WordPress sites. We can return any static content in thousandths of seconds after receiving a request from the user, while checking if it is up-to-date in units of seconds up to 60 seconds (depending on the tariff). The average site on WEDOS Global Protection has increased in speed by approximately 48%.

WAF report from WEDOS Global Protection for September 2023
In September, we also saw an increase in the number of attacks compared to the holiday months. The second holiday month was definitely not a time of rest. Firstly, we continued to build WEDOS Global, but also had to deal with the increasing activity of some botnets that did not primarily intend to carry out DDoS attacks, but were looking for vulnerabilities. Even during the holidays we did not slack off and continued to build our WEDOS Global infrastructure. We optimized routing in selected locations, continued to arrange new ones and are finishing up some broken ones. Of course, there were also DDoS attacks, although in terms of number and strength it was more like a holiday traffic.

In June, we again took the entire WEDOS Global infrastructure further. The response has improved in a number of countries and we have added a few new features that we hope to roll out to everyone soon. Of course, there were also DDoS attacks, which we successfully filtered out. Interestingly, despite the increase in sites protected by WEDOS Global Protection, DDoS attacks decreased in June. Looks like our attackers are starting to get away from us.

In May, we continued to build our WEDOS Global infrastructure. We’ve also moved forward with the WEDOS Zone service, allowing you to use only our anycast DNS. WEDOS Global Protection also experienced the largest L7 DDoS onslaught since we have been measuring and recording attacks in detail.
