Since about the beginning of the year we have been working intensively on a new solution where we could answer all questions together with our community of customers and fans not only about our services, but also about content management systems, e-shops, server management, programming and many other topics. At the beginning of July 2019, we launched an open beta test of help.wedos.cz and about a month later it exceeded 1000 users.
Why we need help.wedos.cz
Our customer support team answers hundreds of questions a day and the number of requests for help is constantly growing. Some problems can be solved within a minute, others take dozens of minutes. Especially complex ones, which are often associated with content management systems, are handled by our CMS specialists. They have to make a copy of the site with the customer’s permission and figure out the problem. This can take hours (sometimes even days).
In this way, we accumulate a large amount of information that would be appreciated by the entire IT community. At the same time, it is easier for us to describe and explain everything in detail and then use the finished solution as an answer for recurring customer questions.
The result of all this is help.wedos.cz. So this is only the first phase, when we basically fill the database with information, which we then sort and tag. This will be followed by a sophisticated search system that will link information from all our sources (help, knowledge base, upcoming forum, blog, etc.).
Since more than 90% of support inquiries are repeated and the customer himself could solve the situation by following the detailed instructions, we hope to reduce the burden on customer support and thus solve problems faster. Some customers would also appreciate solving the problem on their own without customer support.
So what is waiting for us at help.wedos.cz?
You will have noticed that you can earn reputation by replying. This will be the key to other functions. For example, a community member with a high reputation won’t have to wait for a post to be approved, and a high reputation will open up new features such as the ability to add a short “who you are and what you do” signature to your profile or put some information about yourself in your profile.
In the future, we would also like to offer members with high reputations the opportunity to offer their IT-related services. We do not do server management ourselves, but we have many experienced customers who provide it professionally. So why not combine supply and demand? The same applies to programming, graphics and other fields.
Another big advantage is that anyone who has purchased services from us has essentially passed a certain level of verification. Especially for entrepreneurs who are VAT payers and bought services from us over CZK 10,000 in one month, the FÚ basically verified the identity through the control report 🙂
We’re going to factor all of this into the reputation right away. If you’ve had a lot of service with us and for a long time, you won’t have to earn a reputation the normal way. It is also a kind of thank you for your trust.
Why do we know it will work?
Already now help.wedos.cz has taken off without much promotion. Questions come in by the dozens every week, and if they’re not answered in a flash by someone in the community, our customer support will. At help.wedos.cz you can be sure that someone will always be there to answer your questions.
In addition, we reward active community members. For now, these are 24 packs of WEDOS Energy, but in the future we are preparing an incentive program with T-shirts, flash drives, sweatshirts and even a free service extension. Exactly, if you help the community, you will have free web hosting or VPS with us 🙂
