We have had another competition in which every WEDOS customer could participate. This time we organized it together with EURid, so the competition question was focused on .eu domains.
Competition question and correct answer
“How many .EU domains will be registered with WEDOS as of 13 September 2021 at 23:59?”
The answers were entered into a special form, which was linked to from an email sent after the order was paid. The form was active from 03.05.2021 00:00 to 01.09.2021 23:59.
For each purchase/renewal of a hosting service or .eu domain, an additional email was sent so that customers with multiple services could guess multiple times.
And the correct answer was 50460.
Evaluation of the competition
This time we have extended the competition for almost 4 months (from 3 May 2021 to 31 August 2021). Based on paid orders, we sent out a total of 11,334 invitations. However, only a small number of customers used them and only 1,640 tickets were entered into the competition. Since we were playing for 101 prizes in total, the chances of winning were really high. Statistically, almost every 16th.
In reality, however, most of the guessers only tried a number. Whoever tracked down that at the end of March we had around 50 thousand .eu domains and gave us a 4% increase in 4 months was in the top 40.
In the last turtle competition we had 3,375 tickets. It is true that the holiday months are weaker and this year June was already a holiday month. On the other hand, counting .eu domains probably doesn’t attract as much as zoo animals. That’s why we decided to do the next contest again with the Hluboká Zoo, where we are still the general partner.
Winners and prizes
No one hit the ball accurately this time either. The closest was Josef Houžvička from Heřmanice with his ticket 50421 (-39 and he gets the main prize from us iPhone 12 Pro. Congratulations 🙂
