What you (can’t) pay for at WEDOS

At the beginning of the year, we significantly strengthened the parameters of the NoLimit service, especially in terms of computing power. This was especially appreciated by customers using content management systems with larger databases and customers whose websites are visited by a large number of visitors on a spur-of-the-moment basis. And it shows. The number of service cancellations due to “dissatisfaction with performance/speed” dropped almost 4 times. But it’s not just about increasing the parameters. Behind it are changes and advances that most customers are unaware of.

How we have progressed with data storage and management on the 3PAR StoreServ Storage 8450

There’s a lot going on here. We are building our decentralised WEDOS Global network, preparing to launch the first WEDOS Global Protection service on it, and the development of oil cooling is still going ahead, but these are not all big projects. Last year, we migrated our service data to the new 3PAR StoreServ Storage 8450, which was very challenging and we still ran into the occasional problem a few months later. In addition to significant simplification, increased stability and speed, this new solution also opens the way for us to take many services further.

The company WEDOS Internet, a.s. was founded in 2010 and within 25 months it became the largest provider of web hosting services in the Czech Republic.

We have our own two private datacentres in Hluboká Nad Vltavou, where only our servers and technology are located. The second datacentre, where the servers will be cooled in an oil bath, is built and we are preparing everything for start-up. For the third datacentre we have already bought the land and are processing the necessary permits.
