We’ve updated some key technologies on our NoLimit web hosting and we’re also launching a brand new product, NoLimit WP, optimized specifically for WordPress. In this post we’ll walk through what’s changed, why it matters, and which option fits what kind of project.
NoLimit Web Hosting: Tech Stack Update
NoLimit has long been our best-selling web hosting plan, and the reason is simple: it offers unlimited disk space, unlimited data transfer, support for multiple domains on a single hosting account (up to 3 aliases), and stable performance even for demanding websites and e-shops. It runs WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and pretty much any PHP application out there.
To keep up with the times, we regularly refresh the underlying tech. Here’s what’s new on NoLimit:
New MariaDB version: 10.11.16
MariaDB is the database engine behind the vast majority of websites on our hosting. When you write a WordPress post or add a product to your e-shop, that data ends up in MariaDB. The new 10.11.16-MariaDB-log version we’re rolling out brings:
- Better performance on complex database queries
- Improved stability under heavy concurrent load
- Security patches that keep your database protected against known vulnerabilities
- Long-term support through 2028
For most customers, nothing changes in day-to-day use, your site will just run faster and more reliably.
New PHP versions: 8.4 and 8.5
PHP is the programming language that powers WordPress, most e-shops, and basically the bulk of the web. We now offer PHP 8.4 and the new 8.5. What does that mean in practice?
- Faster page loads, newer PHP versions are significantly more performant than older ones
- Lower memory consumption, so you stay within limits even on heavier sites
- Active security support, older versions no longer receive it
- Better compatibility with the latest plugins and themes
You can switch PHP versions with one click in the customer admin area. If your site currently runs on 8.1 or 8.2, we recommend trying the upgrade, in most cases nothing dramatic happens and you just get a speed boost.

New: NoLimit WP, Hosting Tailored for WordPress
WordPress now powers more than 40% of websites worldwide. No surprise that more and more of our customers run WordPress, whether for a company site, blog, or WooCommerce e-shop. That’s why we’ve built a new service, NoLimit WP, optimized specifically for WordPress.
The main difference from regular NoLimit? NoLimit WP runs on LiteSpeed and Redis, technologies that make your WordPress site fly. Here’s what that means.
LiteSpeed: the fastest web server on the market
A web server is the software that delivers your page to a visitor’s browser. Most hosting plans run on Apache, the time-tested classic. LiteSpeed is the modern alternative that handles high traffic far more efficiently:
- shorter Time to First Byte (TTFB), which Google factors into SEO rankings
- significantly faster response under traffic spikes (sales, viral posts, Black Friday)
- native HTTP/3 support for even faster and more secure data transfer
- integrated caching that drastically speeds up WordPress
Redis: a cache that takes load off the database
When a visitor opens your WordPress site, the server has to query the database for posts, settings, comments, and categories every single time. Redis is a smart memory layer that remembers these results, so the next visitor gets the same content instantly without another database query.
For WordPress in practice, that means a 40 to 80% speedup on database-heavy pages. For WooCommerce e-shops with thousands of products, the difference is even more dramatic, the cart, checkout, and product listings all respond almost instantly.
DDoS protection included
A DDoS attack is when an attacker tries to take your website down by flooding it with massive amounts of fake requests. It’s a nightmare for any site, doubly so for WordPress, since attacks against the wp-login.php page are among the most common.
NoLimit WP comes with DDoS protection built in, powered by the WEDOS Global Protection infrastructure. Attacks get filtered out before they ever reach your site.
What else you get with NoLimit WP
- Pre-installed WordPress, log in and start building right after you order
- Optimized environment (LiteSpeed + Redis + the latest PHP and MariaDB)
- Unlimited disk space and data transfer
- Free SSL certificate (HTTPS)
- Email mailboxes on your own domain
- Automatic backups
- 24/7 support
Service details and current pricing are on the WordPress hosting page.
